We are a well-established, family-run garden centre with a strong reputation for quality plants, fresh flowers, gardening products, and excellent customer service. We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Full-Time Retail Sales & Mainatanace Assistant to join our team.
The Role
As a Retail Sales & Mainatanace Assistant you will be responsible for delivering a high standard of customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the garden centre. This is a varied and hands-on role .
Key Responsibilities
* Providing professional, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service
* Assisting customers with plant and product enquiries
* Maintaining high standards of visual merchandising and stock presentation
* Plant care, including watering and general garden centre maintenance
* Receiving and processing deliveries
* Operating EPOS/till systems and handling transactions accurately
* Supporting seasonal displays and promotional activities
* Ensuring the garden centre remains clean, safe, and well organised
Candidate Requirements
* Previous retail experience (preferred)
* Interest in horticulture or gardening (desirable)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and peak seasonal periods
* Physically capable of lifting and moving stock where required
