Location: Cambridge, CB1 3HS. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. The role involves managing the CUOTC accounts (MOD Public and Non-Public funds) and acting as the subject matter expert for finance related queries. Training will be provided for MOD-specific software.
Job Description
The Cambridge University Officers Training Corps (CUOTC) runs its own accounts; both public (MOD) and Non-Public funds. The Financial Systems Administrator (FSA) is responsible for these accounts, the pay of OCdts and reserve staff, and providing management information to Fund Managers. You will act as the Public Fund Account Holder, processing transactions using MOD-specific software and completing required administrative tasks.
Main Role Responsibilities
* Account holder for the Service Charitable Funds (Non-Public Fund), processing transactions using MOD-specific software
* Manage the bank accounts for both funds
* Maintain the accounts using the MOD financial software
* Support the Budget Manager with unit budget management
* Administer pay and allowances for Reserve staff and OCdts
* Manage the Personnel pay administration software
* Ensure unit compliance with MOD Financial Regulations
* Provide advice and management information to Fund Managers
* Complete monthly and year-end close-down on both accounts
* Approve local purchasing of products
You will be required to attend the Financial Systems Administrator course, which is 2 x residential modules at DCLPA, Worthy Down in Winchester. Module A is 2.5 weeks and Module B is 2 weeks. Completion is expected within 6 months of taking up the post. Accommodation is provided in Worthy Down, with expenses paid in line with the Travel and Expense Policy.
