SEN Teaching Assistant - Full time!
Hours: 8am - 3:30pm - Mon - Fri
Pay Rate: £106 and up based on experience!
Start Date: ASAP (after passing background checks)

Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? We are seeking dedicated staff to join a specialist SEN school in Salford, working with pupils aged 9-19 who have a range of SEMH and SEN needs. Many of the pupils are operating below their chronological age academically and require personalised, communication-focused support to help them thrive.
Role Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH and SEN needs, focusing on communication development and social interaction.
Work with students who are working at lower academic levels than their peers, ensuring lessons and resources are accessible.
Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions using approaches such as PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, and structured routines.
Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
Support with building pupils' confidence, resilience, and independence through positive and consistent engagement.
Foster an inclusive and nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and encouraged to progress at their own pace.
Requirements:
Prior experience in care, support work or education.
Familiarity with SEN and SEMH needs, particularly communication support strategies.
Ability to motivate and engage pupils through creative and individualised approaches.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong resilience and adaptability when supporting students with challenging behaviours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
