Job Description
The Associate Data Engineer role is based in the Group Data Services & Reporting (DS&R) function. DS&R serves as the hub in a data hub‑and‑spoke operating model, supporting all 8 divisions in Radius and collaborating with business analyst teams and stakeholders across the UK and globally. The role involves designing and building new data pipelines, modeling and transforming data for business insight, and extending the data platform & service capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and build new integrations into platforms and systems not currently integrated into our Group Data Warehouse.
* Model and transform data within the AWS Data Warehouse / Databricks / other tooling, applying business definitions to prepare datasets for business consumption.
* Provide broader data service & integration solutions for the Group.
* Collaborate with the DS&R team and stakeholders, gathering and steering requirements, managing your work & projects, and documenting solutions.
* Support the Data Service Desk on a rotating basis during business hours with development solutions and advice (4‑8 h per week).
Key Experience & Qualifications
* Minimum 12 months commercial experience in a Data Engineering role.
* At least 1–2 years as a Data Engineer working in a cloud‑based data landscape.
* Proficiency in Python and SQL; code‑based ETL processes.
* Analytical, critical thinker with rigorous quality focus.
* Comfortable working with stakeholders who may have partially defined requirements.
* Appreciation that a data solution is successful if it is adopted and delivers value.
