Stress Engineer Certain Advantage are hiring on behalf of our globally renowned Engineering client for Stress Engineers to support on Nuclear (civil and potentially defence) projects. This will involve working onsite in Derby for 3 days per week with 2 days remote. You’ll be supporting our client in working with their customer and take responsibility for producing design and manufacturing documentation for both mechanical equipment and structural supports. You’ll be undertaking design calculations in accordance with pressure vessel codes (e.g. ASME) and structural codes (Eurocode 3) and choose the most cost-effective & regulation-compliant designs You’ll have to collaborate with CAD team and suppliers to produce engineering drawings; (NX 11 or Autocad) as well as create & update equipment specifications. Your skills and Experience Experienced with using and understanding the requirements of any of the following codes: ASME VIII, EN13445, Eurocode 3 and BS EN 1090; EN13001 General knowledge of FEA is preferable. (Abaqus, Ansys, or LS-Dyna) Able to plan and manage own workload An understanding of steelwork components e.g. materials, profiles, strength, joint designs etc. and how they should be used to maintain compliance to the design codes above Be able to complete scheme calculation assessments through to final stress analysis reporting Good working knowledge of tolerances Experienced with the application of CE (and/or UKCA) marking equipment to ensure that proposed designs are fully compliant Team player & clear communicator Does this sound like your next career move?
