Senior Workplace Investigator
Employment Law / HR – UK Top 50 Law Firm
Hybrid working | National role | Complex, high-level investigations | No fee targets
Are you an experienced employment lawyer or senior HR professional ready to take your career in a new direction? This is your opportunity to step away from traditional fee-earning and immerse yourself in complex, high-stakes employment workplace investigations at one of the UK’s most respected law firms and highly ranked employment team.
We’re working with a leading national law firm, consistently ranked in the Top 50, to find a Senior Workplace Investigator to join their expanding team. This is a rare chance to go “under the bonnet” of critical employment issues - discrimination, whistleblowing, grievances, and board-level disputes - delivering objective, trusted insight to high-profile clients across sectors including education, healthcare, transport, energy, and professional services.
This is a chance to:
* Move beyond billing: Focus on depth, accuracy, and influence - not time sheets or chargeable hours.
* Apply your expertise: Use your employment law knowledge and investigative instincts to unravel the facts behind sensitive, high-level situations.
* Craft compelling reports: You’ll be the author of detailed, balanced, and digestible investigation reports that guide senior decision-makers.
* A problem-solver’s dream: This is ideal for someone who thrives on detail, nuance, and the human side of workplace issues.
* Emotionally intelligent interviewing: Engage with individuals at all levels - from frontline staff to C-suite executives - with empathy and clarity.
The ideal candidate is likely to be:
* A qualified solicitor (3 + PQE) in employment law or a senior HR professional with investigation experience
* Has managed or advised on complex workplace investigations
* Has a strong grasp of employment law
* Excellent drafting skills
On offer for you is not just an opportunity to do something different, but hybrid and flexible working – which includes being able to offer full time, part time or zero hours contracts for this position. This is in addition to a competitive benefits scheme and remuneration package.
This is a standout role for an analytical, detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving complex problems and making a tangible impact - without the pressure of billing targets.
If you’re ready to evolve your career into something more strategic, investigative, and human-focused, we’d love to hear from you.
