About the role
As our Financial Controller, you will lead the UK finance team and take ownership of ensuring accurate, timely and meaningful financial reporting. You will oversee day-to-day finance operations, working to maintain strong financial controls, smooth month-end processes and a clear, insightful reporting structure for the UK Board. A key part of your role will involve driving improvements across systems and processes, including playing a pivotal part in the ongoing optimisation of our ERP system, Syspro. You will also lead the preparation of statutory accounts, manage the UK audit, support tax-related schedules-including R&D and Patent Box-and oversee weekly payroll to ensure consistency and compliance. Working closely with the Finance Director and wider leadership team, you will help support strategic initiatives, contribute to forecasting and provide the financial insight required to guide effective decision-making.
About you
You will be a qualified accountant with strong experience in financial control, reporting and leading a finance team. You are someone who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and takes genuine pride in the accuracy, clarity and reliability of the information you produce. Leadership comes naturally to you; you enjoy developing others, building confidence within your team and creating an environment where people can grow and perform at their best. You bring a proactive, improvement-focused mindset and feel confident challenging the status quo, particularly when it comes to strengthening processes, enhancing reporting or improving system integration. You communicate clearly at all levels, build strong relationships and feel comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders.
