Pay rate – £400 per day Contract – Temporary Stoke on Trent City Council are currently recruiting an experienced Head of Service for their Quality Assurance & Safeguarding services. Stoke on Trent are looking for an experienced Lead for Quality Assurance who has experience with quality assurance and conference and review to provide short term sickness absence. The successful candidate will play a pivotal leadership role in driving high standards of practice and service delivery across the Directorate. The successful candidate will demonstrate: Proven management experience, with the ability to lead, inspire and develop multi-disciplinary teams in a complex social care environment. Extensive social work experience, underpinned by a strong understanding of statutory responsibilities, safeguarding practice and regulatory frameworks. Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate data, identify themes and trends, and translate insights into measurable service improvements. Considerable experience in report writing, producing high-quality analytical and evaluative reports for a range of forums and senior leaders Experience of managing Conference and Review Services, ensuring effective oversight, professional challenge and consistency of practice. Strong engagement and communication skills, with the ability to gather staff feedback, interpret workforce insights and present findings confidently across a range of internal and external forums. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and value-driven leader to support with our continuity in shaping the continuous improvement of Children’s Social Care services in Stoke-on-Trent, ensuring the voice of children, families and practitioners is central to all quality assurance activity. Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
