Job Title: Headteacher
Location: New Barn School, Newbury, RG20 8HZ
Salary: Up to £95,000 per annum (dependent on experience) plus Welcome Bonus and Relocation Package*
Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only
Hours: Monday – Friday

About the Role
This is more than a leadership role – it’s a chance to make a lasting impact. We are looking for an inspirational Headteacher who will champion our ethos of Thinking and Learning Differently. You’ll lead a dedicated team and shape an inclusive, forward-thinking learning environment that helps every pupil flourish – academically, socially, and emotionally. You’ll be central in driving our strategic vision, fostering resilience, creativity, and confidence in pupils aged 6–19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex learning profiles.
About You
* You are a compassionate leader with a strong moral purpose and a drive for transformational outcomes.
* Experience as a Headteacher or Deputy Head in a specialist SEMH setting.
* Skilled in leading Ofsted inspections and improvement planning.
* Proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams.
* Understand the importance of therapeutic education and inclusive practice.
* Adept at managing budgets and ensuring operational excellence.
* Hold a relevant teaching qualification.
