Experienced Finance Assistant - Part-Time Role (2 days per week)

We highly value seasoned expertise and are looking for a reliable and meticulous Finance Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant with a minimum of 3 years' experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the finance operation of the organisation by assisting with various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department. This role offers the chance to remain professionally active, contribute significantly to our team, and enjoy the flexibility that a part-time schedule provides. The position would require non-term time attendance.

Responsibilities

* Drive the end-to-end processing of purchase invoices, employee expenses, and payments in a timely and accurate manner.
* Assist in the management of the sales ledger functions encompassing the creation and issue of invoices, recording and entering client payments and debt collecting.
* Assist in the execution of month end and year end processes.
* Perform regular bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies to ensure perfect alignment with our financial records.
* Provide administrative support to the finance team as required, including filing and document management.
* Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial matters.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.

Skills & Experience

* A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a finance or accounting role.
* Strong numerical proficiency with excellent attention to detail.
* Proficient in using Sage 50 accounting software and Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with colleagues and stakeholders.
* A basic understanding of financial principles and practices is necessary.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
