There’s something satisfying about seeing things through - from that first sketch on paper to the day a client walks through their finished building. This studio knows that feeling well. For over half a century, they’ve built their reputation not on noise or marketing, but on the simple idea that good design and solid delivery should go hand in hand. They’re a Scottish practice with deep roots and modern ambitions - combining architecture, interiors, and engineering under one roof to create spaces that are beautifully resolved, technically sound, and made to last.
Right now, they’re looking for a Senior Architect to join their Glasgow team - someone who wants to make things happen. This isn’t a role for a passenger. It’s for an architect who’s confident steering projects, managing people, and balancing the creative with the practical. You’ll be the person clients look to for calm guidance and clear answers, leading schemes from concept to completion and ensuring every drawing that leaves your desk stands up to scrutiny.
Their work is broad - commercial, healthcare, residential, community, education, conservation, and everything in between. That variety keeps things interesting. You might be shaping a major mixed‑use development one month, then a listed building the next. The scale means you’ll never feel pigeonholed. Instead, you’ll have the freedom to stretch yourself, working closely with engineers, interior designers, and project managers all sat within the same team. That collaborative setup is one of their biggest strengths. It cuts out the noise, gets rid of unnecessary layers, and keeps everyone focused on what matters - delivering great buildings.
Culturally, they’re a grounded, no-nonsense bunch. They care about design, but not at the expense of reality. They value people who can think creatively but also get things done - who know when to push for an idea and when to roll up their sleeves and make it work. You’ll be surrounded by people who’ve been in the industry long enough to know that egos don’t build buildings, teams do.
For the right person, this role offers a lot of scope. You’ll have genuine autonomy day to day, input on how projects are shaped, and visibility across the practice. Progression is there for those who want it - whether that’s mentoring younger architects, taking on larger and more complex jobs, or moving toward Associate level. They trust their people and promote on merit, not time served.
They work flexibly, with a mix of studio and home time, but they also believe in the value of being together - sharing ideas, troubleshooting, and having a laugh when the deadline pressure kicks in. The studio itself is a bright, open space designed for collaboration, the kind of place where conversations naturally turn into solutions.
If you’re a Senior Architect who takes pride in getting things built, wants variety in your workload, and values a culture where delivery and design sit side by side, this is the kind of environment where you’ll thrive.
