Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Caerphilly Primary SchoolStart Date: After February Half Term
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Caerphilly. This role is ideal for a Level 4 or 5 qualified Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting learning across the school and covering PPA time when required.
You will work both as a classroom Teaching Assistant and step into a HLTA role to lead learning in the absence of the class teacher across both KS1 and KS2.
Requirements:
* Level 4 or Level 5 Teaching Assistant qualification
* Experience working within a primary school setting
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
* Strong classroom management and communication skills
* Flexibility and confidence to work across different classes
Key Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant (TA):
* Support pupils' learning in line with the teacher's planning
* Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
* Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
* Provide support for pupils with additional learning needs
* Promote positive behaviour and engagement
* Help monitor and record pupil progress
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA):
* Deliver planned lessons during PPA cover across different classes
* Manage the classroom independently in the teacher's absence
* Adapt lesson plans to meet the needs of all learners
* Assess, record, and report on pupil progress during cover sessions
* Support curriculum delivery across a range of subjects and key stages
* Provide feedback to teachers on pupil performance and behaviour
