Systemic Therapist Practitioner, CBT/Child Adolescent Psychotherapist
To act as an autonomous professional fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g., HCPC). To use appropriate clinical understanding in assessing children, adolescents, and their families in collaboration with colleagues in the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include formulating their strengths and difficulties and determining the most suitable treatment plan. The role involves working alongside other colleagues in CYPMHS and within the care pathway to conduct comprehensive assessments of the functioning of children, young persons, and families, particularly where there is high dysfunction and entrenched difficulties. The therapist will provide therapeutic interventions with sensitivity to cultural, racial, religious differences, and sexual orientation. Additionally, the role involves clinical assessment of children and young people with severe, complex, and persistent mental health issues, offering therapeutic interventions, and working with parents, carers, and networks of referred children and young people.
