Our Senior Project Managers play an important part within the Rail Design team and alongside our client. The Cardiff Crossrail Design Delivery Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the design phases of a transport project in Cardiff under NEC4 contract conditions. This position coordinates the integration of multi-disciplinary designs, manages strategic programme activities, engages with stakeholders, maintains budget controls, and applies risk management strategies.
Responsibilities
 * Lead a team to produce technically sound project management deliverables, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements
 * Prepare, check and maintain project management related information that enables Amey Consulting commissions to be delivered while satisfying quality, cost and programme criteria
 * Oversee the actions of more junior staff undertaking similar tasks and take responsibility for their actions
 * Be responsible for the commercial success of the projects within the portfolio, control budgets and manage costs associated with the production of deliverables
 * Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attend progress meetings, respond to queries
 * Contribute to the preparation of bids and the general work winning function
 * Drive effective health and safety practices within the team
 * Act as day-to-day main project management contact for a project where required under the terms of the commission
 * Take ownership for the preparation and checking of deliverables to a reasonable standard
 * Demonstrate very good working knowledge of project management software and similar analytical tools
 * Demonstrate good commercial awareness
 * Demonstrate a good understanding of interface management
 * Complete professional review or end point assessment resulting in Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence
Qualifications
 * Bachelors or Masters Degree in an appropriate subject
 * Full membership of the Association for Project Management
 * APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or equivalent
 * Developed experience and expertise within the field of Project Management, likely gained in a Project Management role or equivalent
 * Experienced in undertaking project-related tasks associated with the management of health, safety and welfare, e.g. Amey's Integrated Management System and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
 * Demonstrates a good understanding of the construction industry, risk management and health and safety requirements
