Qualified Social Worker
Location: Merseyside
Pay rate: £35 per hour
We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join our dedicated Assessment Team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our client's social work team in Merseyside. You will be supported by an experienced team manager. Our client fosters a strong and positive culture within this West Yorkshire local authority, offering regular monthly supervision and group reflective sessions.
As a member of the Merseyside Assessment Team, you will work in a busy, supportive environment assessing and working with children and families, intervening early to provide support. Your work will involve direct assessment with children and families, collaborating with agencies like police and health to ensure positive outcomes and sustainable change. The service maintains strong links with Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care intervention is no longer necessary.
In accordance with social care legislation and local requirements, you will support the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Utilizing your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and determine appropriate interventions. Your excellent communication skills will help establish and maintain relationships with service users and agencies to meet their needs. You will be committed to achieving positive, sustainable results, striving to provide the best outcomes for children and supporting their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the vulnerable and operate efficiently.
Ideal candidate will be:
* Registered with Social Work England
* Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
* Skilled in Court, Children in Need, and Child Protection cases
* Supportive of child and family planning, pre-proceedings, and court proceedings
* Knowledgeable of factors impacting children, such as abuse and neglect
* Capable of undertaking Child & Family Assessments with effective analysis and planning
* Proficient in direct work with children and families
* Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking
* Well-versed in Child Protection legislation and issues
* Committed to continuous improvement for better outcomes
* Excellent mediator and negotiator
* Skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families
* Experienced in multi-disciplinary, interagency work
* At least 2 years qualified experience

* Assess risks, protection, and social care needs
* Manage an agreed caseload
* Use specialist communication skills for optimal outcomes
* Devise individual care plans respecting diversity and dignity
