Legal Cashier
JS Legal Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to work on a full-time permanent basis for a solicitors based in Upminster. As a Legal Cashier you will work as a team member with the Partners and Lawyers and other support staff.
Responsibilities
* To support the day-to-day recording of the financial transactions and maintaining client and office ledgers
* Assist in the administration of the purchase ledger including postings and payments
* Undertake daily banking functions including bank reconciliations for client and office accounts
* Assist in the administration and reconciliation of petty cash
* Preparation of cheques
* Administration and processing of online bank transactions, including Telegraphic Transfers, Faster Payments, International Payments, and Inter- account Transfers
* Reconciling client ledgers, posting bills
* Posting HM Land Registry, search fees, and court fees to the relevant ledgers
* To ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and Money Laundering Regulations
Skills and Experience Required
* A minimum of 2 years working in a similar law firm environment
* Excellent communication skills
* An eye for detail
* Excellent organisations skills with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload
* Client ledgers: You will need to be confident and experienced in reading client ledgers
* SRA Rules : Good knowledge and understanding of the Solicitors accounts Rules
* You will be accountable to the Finance Director and Managing Partner
* Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm Office based
