Kitchen Manager

Role Summary:

At Relish Event Catering, we deliver outstanding event catering across green-field events, weddings, corporate and private functions. We pride ourselves on fresh, creative food, flawless service and memorable guest experiences.

Role Purpose:

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Kitchen Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Production unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing stock levels, staff rota, kitchen production, and ensuring efficient mise en place for Production & events. This is a hands-on role requiring leadership, planning, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee food preparation and service across a variety of events (weddings, large corporate, festivals).
* Lead & mentor the kitchen team, including rota management, training & performance reviews.
* Manage stock, ordering, waste control; ensuring food cost and gross profit targets are met.
* Ensure all health & safety, hygiene, licensing and compliance standards are fully met.
* Liaise with operations/venues management to ensure service timing and venue requirements are achieved.

Essential Requirements:

* Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager in event/large volume catering.
* Strong leadership skills & ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
* A clean driving licence is essential.
* Knowledge of food safety & hygiene legislation.

Sous Chef

Role Summary:

Working alongside the Head Chef, you will support delivering high-quality, creative dishes across our event menus, ensuring consistency, presentation excellence and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in menu development and seasonal dish creation.
* Oversee preparation, plating and cooking during service with high standards.
* Manage junior chefs, ensuring training, consistency and efficiency.
* Maintain high standards of hygiene, organisation and cleanliness.
* Support stock management and cost control.

Essential Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Sous Chef in events or large scale catering.
* Creative culinary skills and excellent palate.
* Leadership skills, with ability to manage teams in hectic event environments.
* A clean driving licence is essential.
* Strong working knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene legislation.
