This is a lovely family, who are excellent employers and will treat their nanny very well. The family's preference is live in, but they can offer the position as live in during the week (staying over Monday, Tues, Wed and Thursday nights) and nanny can return to their own home over weekends - or stay with them, either is possible. The house is big and you will have privacy and your working hours full respected. OR, for the right nanny live out is also possible - as long as you live close by. Childcare - The nanny will oversee all aspects of care for the child. Key duties include, but are not limited to: Put the absolute mental, emotional, and physical safety of the child first before all other responsibilities Prepare and feed all meals and snacks for the child, prepare bottles as directed by the family Dress and maintain personal hygiene of the child Ensure the child maintains healthy sleep habits Take the child on walks and supervise her during outdoor activities such as to the playground Transport, attend, and assist in “extracurricular” activities of the child such as music classes and swim classes Organize play dates with similarly-aged children, both via friends of the family as well as other residents of the compound of family’s residence Administer medicine to child only as directed by the family Identify and engage in developmentally appropriate activities inside and outside of the house for the child Provide a nurturing, safe, and educational environment for the child as directed by family Nanny’s suggestions on child rearing and child care are welcomed by family Household duties Keep child’s bedroom and other areas of the house tidy Wash baby bottles, pacifiers, etc. Change linens in child’s sleeping space as needed Child’s laundry Run and/or unload dishwasher Empty garbage/recycling/compost bin as needed Open mailed packages and recycle boxes as needed; put away grocery deliveries Re-stock changing table Empty diaper bin Occasional errands Occasional communication/direction to other household employees such as housecleaner, gardener Communication with the family Communicate directly, proactively, and honestly with the family at all times Maintain a digital log on a daily basis. The log will record information of importance to the child's welfare, as well as provide the parents with narrative information about the day and its activities. Details of medications dispensed, meals, and nap times will be included. Notify the family if we are running low on any household supplies (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, formula, etc.) Send pictures and/or video of the child as convenient The nanny and family recognize that specific duties may evolve as the child grows and the family’s needs change. Requirements German speaker (otherwise French or Mandarin) Recent baby / toddler experience Interest in early years education Had considerable experience of sole charge experience of 2 young children Up to date Enhanced DBS (we can help you apply) Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate Right to work in UK Good references for recent and relevant nanny work and jobs that have each lasted a good length of time.
