Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people? Do you have the resilience, patience, and confidence to support students in overcoming behavioural challenges?
We are a diverse and inclusive secondary school in Newham seeking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor to work closely with students in our Inclusion Unit. This is a vital role in helping to create a safe, supportive, and structured environment where every student can thrive.
The Role:
* Supervise and support students within the Inclusion Unit who require time away from mainstream classes
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help manage and improve their behaviour
* Work alongside pastoral staff, SEN teams, and teaching staff to implement tailored strategies and behaviour plans
* Monitor student progress and contribute to reintegration plans back into the classroom
* Promote a calm, consistent and respectful atmosphere within the unit
What We're Looking For:
* Experience working with young people with social, emotional or behavioural needs (in school or youth work settings)
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
* A calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach
* A team player who is committed to the values of inclusion and equality
We Offer:
* A full-time, term-time role with opportunities for ongoing training
* A chance to work in a supportive, experienced team
* Real impact: help students re-engage with learning and unlock their potential
* A positive, multi-cultural school environment committed to every student's success
If you're ready to be a role model and a consistent, supportive presence in a young person's life, we would love to hear from you.
