Offer description

About the Project:

We are creating a virtual reality (VR) training tool exploring the fem experience of Night Time Economy (NTE) spaces. The VR experience will invite NTE staff to step into our shoes on a night out in Birmingham, and will be built with the verbatim voices of local communities, gathered through these focus groups. The aim of the tool is to build empathy, encouraging victim-centred approaches to reducing gendered violence in NTE spaces.

About Calico:

We are Calico, a social enterprise based in the West Midlands, co-creating artistic campaigns with lived experience communities. We work with community groups to tell their verbatim stories through diverse creative mediums, including theatre, dance, film and virtual reality. Harnessing the power of the arts and culture as a catalyst for positive social change, we deliver creative interventions both in public spaces, and directly to policymaking organisations such as policing teams, transport providers, security teams and councils. Our campaigns platform unheard voices, facilitate conversations, shift perspectives, and dismantle systemic barriers, to imagine safer spaces.

After the success of
CurfewVR
, our VR training tool for safer public spaces, we are expanding our training to support NTE venues

The Role: 3D Modelling Artist

The 3D Modelling Artist will work alongside a Unity Developer, Sound Designer, and 360 Video Editor. Their work will be overseen by Calico directors, Daz Scott & Martha Harrison.
