An exciting opportunity has arisen at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust for a dynamic, innovative, and highly skilled professional to take on the role of Band 7 Anaesthetic Lead. Queen’s Theatre Department is a fast-paced and forward-thinking environment with 16 theatres, delivering a wide range of surgical specialties including General Surgery, Vascular, Neurosurgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Orthopaedic Trauma, ENT, Maxillofacial, Maternity, and Ophthalmology. We are seeking a Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC) with extensive experience in anaesthetics and a strong track record of supporting and leading anaesthetic teams within a busy, multi-specialty environment. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, multi-skilled in anaesthetics, and able to demonstrate proven leadership and managerial abilities to guide, motivate and inspire colleagues towards excellence in patient care.
You will be expected to show leadership skills and have proven experience in managing staff, mentoring colleagues, and taking charge of the department. Working alongside Senior and Deputy Matrons, you will also contribute to the effective management of theatre budgets, ensuring safe and high-quality patient care is delivered within available resources.

Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has a risen for an enthusiastic, driven, leadership focused individual with our Anaesthetic Team in the Operating Department. The post holder will be responsible for the direct line management of staff in the Anaesthetics with an extended focus on Paediatric care within the Operating Department. As well as holding budgeting responsibility, scheduling, daily co-ordination and much more.
The post holder will be a clinical specialist in the field of peri-operative nursing/operating department practice. This is a key role within the Trust with responsibility for the management of a designated area of Theatre, in addition to maintaining clinical output.
The post holder will be a Team Leader in a specialist clinical area (anaesthetics and Paediatrics) and will be responsible for providing clinical management, advice, support and teaching to the highest possible standard to all relevant personnel within the theatre environment.
The post holder will have responsibility for the operational management of staff and resources, taking a lead in a specific aspect of operational management in the Theatre setting.
