An established FMCG business within the food sector is seeking an experienced Export Sales Manager to lead its international growth strategy. This is a pivotal role, responsible for managing existing export customers, developing new markets, particularly across Europe.
This role will nurture and grow existing businesses and open doors with new distributors to drive growth in the Channel. Highly autonomous role with the opportunity to take ownership of a highly strategic channel within the business.
The Role
As Export Sales Manager, you will:
* Take full ownership of the export function and P&L performance
* Manage and develop a small export team to deliver on business objectives
* Drive new business growth across multiple international markets and channels
* Lead negotiations with retail and distributor partners to achieve profit and volume targets
* Work cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure smooth execution of commercial plans
* Oversee forecasting accuracy, pricing, and service levels
* Monitor competitor and market activity, using insight to inform strategy and product development
The Candidate
You’ll be a commercially astute, strategic export professional with a proven background in FMCG. You bring:
* Minimum 3 years’ international sales experience within FMCG (food or world foods preferred)
* Proven success managing European retail, distributor, or wholesale customers
* Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
* Understanding of customs, duties, and international trade processes
* Excellent analytical and commercial insight, with the ability to manage complex projects
* A degree-level education; a third language is advantageous
