Description for Candidates:
1. Perform special duties as assigned. The position is to stand-by for “call in” work to supplement advance storm preparation and snow removal activities, as required.
How you will contribute:
2. Emergency Operations : Assist and support operations for clearing snow and ice from roadways, applying abrasives and chemicals on road surfaces.
3. Manual Labor: Perform heavy manual labor such as installing tire chains, plow, blades, and perform debris removal.
4. Perform duties as assigned.: Perform duties, tasks, activities and/or projects as assigned.
5. Preventative Maintenance: Ability to perform preventative maintenance on equipment used during inclement weather to support emergency operations and clearing roadways.
What will make you successful:
6. Ability to operate equipment such as loaders, backhoe, skid steer, and tractors.
7. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Minimum Qualifications:
8. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
9. Ability to perform heavy manual labor to include standing, bending, and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
10. Ability to perform preventative maintenance on diverse equipment.
11. Ability to work during the day or night shifts to support emergency operations.
12. Safety shoes required.
Additional Considerations:
13. A combination of training, experience or education in Emergency Operations, snow removal or related field is desired.
14. Ability to work 12-hour shifts, night and/or day, when necessary.
15. Ability to work outside normal business hours in emergencies, inclement weather, and hazardous traffic conditions.
