Network Manager – Children and Young People’s Wales Diabetes Network

The Network Manager will oversee the development of the services and the co-ordination of network workstreams and projects aimed at improving paediatric diabetes care across the region as a whole, in line with national standards, and the outcomes of the national peer-review process.
The post holder will provide full co-ordination and project management to the network and be responsible for implementing the network steering group’s workstreams working across the 14 paediatric diabetes units, as well as with service users and their families, LHBs, and the voluntary sector.
Main duties of the job
The Network Manager will be required to liaise with relevant clinicians in Health Boards across Wales to ensure the Diabetes Service has strong governance and a senior level of management support to ensure a high standard of service for patients.
Maintain effective communication both within the Diabetes Service and the rest of the organisation, in particular with medical consultants, the directorate management team, specialist nurses, laboratory and administrative staff.
Clarifying the network scope, definition and terms of reference in order to plan effectively.
Identify key stakeholders and facilitate their participation and interest in the project.
Identify and assess the benefit and risks associated with the network alongside a plan for delivering benefits and strategies to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Masters level qualification or equivalent experience. Postgraduate Diploma or equivalent experience.
* Management NVQ level 4 or equivalent. Supervisory Management NVQ level 3 or equivalent. ECDL.
Experience
* Experience of negotiating and liaising across business services. Compiling and writing strategic business plans and taking a lead role in bringing these to fruition.
* Experience of project within an NHS / VCS or social care environment. Co-ordinating and managing a clinical network.
