About the Role
As a Registered Nurse working in the Overnight Service at Napier Health Centre, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care in a unique, low-acuity overnight setting. You’ll be responsible for monitoring patients, providing clinical assessments and interventions, supporting overnight admissions, and liaising with other health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys working autonomously in a calm and supportive environment. It offers the opportunity to be part of a service that provides essential care to the community after-hours, making a real difference to patients and their whānau during vulnerable times.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team of skilled and compassionate nurses provides overnight clinical support for patients requiring short-stay or observational care. We operate in a calm, patient-focused environment with strong links to wider primary and secondary services.

About you
As a Registered Nurse, you will be confident, compassionate, and capable of providing care with minimal supervision.
* Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate
* Previous experience in primary care, medical, or community health settings (preferred)
* Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during quiet and busy periods
