Most companies “say” they care about you. This one was named a Top 100 Company to Work For, because they actually back it up.
What You’ll Be Doing
Most employers talk about caring for their people.
Your company builds its business around it, and has the recognition to back it up, having been named one of the Sunday Times Best Places to Work in the UK list.
Here, “we care” isn’t just a line in the handbook.
It’s embedded in how your company supports your well-being, your family life, and your long-term future with a suite of benefits for you and your family.
You’ll have an early finish on Fridays (and a move towards a 4-day week already underway).
You’ll get 28 days' holiday plus bank holidays — rising to 33 over time — plus enhanced leave for family emergencies, bereavement, and parental support.
There’s a cash plan, giving you money back for everyday medical expenses, (including free cover for your children), life insurance worth 2x your salary, and access to a dedicated financial advisor to help you plan your future.
You’ll also get a £6,000 car allowance, pension top-ups through salary sacrifice, and a profit share scheme that paid out £1,250 to every employee last year.
All of these benefits have been introduced in the last couple of years with many more on the way.
So, what does your day-to-day look like?
Your role is critical because it ensures one of the company’s largest and most high-profile contracts runs smoothly, protecting the relationship, maintaining standards, and keeping the client happy.
You’ll be out on the road every day, visiting pubs and hotels across Greater London and the South East, all of which are part of a well-known national brewery group, your company's biggest customer.
Your job?
To make sure cleaning and hygiene products are being used properly, dispensers are working, standards are consistently high, and customers are happy.
You’ll carry out 3–4 site surveys a day, covering everything from kitchens and bars to washrooms and housekeeping areas. You will be required to send in the completed site reports conducted on a daily basis.
It’s structured, repeatable work with clear expectations. You’ll spot any issues, offer basic product or training when needed, and flag anything that needs a follow-up from engineers or account managers.
Once you’re trained, you’ll manage your schedule and routes, with the freedom to structure your day around what works best.
Visits are routine and welcomed, so there’s no awkward cold calling or pressure, just helpful, visible, valuable service.
You’ll be the trusted face that keeps this major account running smoothly, and play a key role in making sure the customer’s operations stay clean, compliant, and on point.
A potential progression route could be into a territory sales role, although this isn’t a requirement if you’re happy in your role.
Where you’ll be doing it:
Your company is a 4th-generation family business that has manufactured premium cleaning & hygiene products globally for 75 years with a sterling reputation that's built on actually giving a hoot about their customers and their staff (including you).
Their USP in their market is their customer service, their bespoke customer solutions and agility for their customers in a market focused on transactional selling, not to mention their focus on wellbeing and balance for their staff.
Here...‘Wellbeing’ and ‘Work/Life Balance’ aren’t just fluffy words thrown around to sound caring; it’s the scaffolding of the entire operation.
What You’ll Need to Apply:
* You’ve worked in a customer-facing role before and know how to build a good rapport
* You’re organised and confident, managing your own time and diary
* You’re comfortable travelling and happy being out on the road most days
* You’re tech-friendly, using a tablet, filling out forms, and keeping records won't faze you
* You have a full UK driving licence
* And ideally, you live within easy reach of Greater London or the M25
However…
If you’re looking for a desk job or prefer working in the same place every day, this probably isn’t for you, as you’ll be on the move most of the time.
