Vision for Education are working in partnership with a friendly and community-focused primary school to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant in Garstang, Lancashire. This SEND Teaching Assistant role in Garstang, Lancashire is due to start in September 2026 and will continue for the full 2026/27 academic year, with potential permanent opportunities beyond this for the right candidate.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant in Garstang, Lancashire to provide valuable 1:1 support to a child within Key Stage 1 and make a genuine difference to a pupil’s educational journey.
The Role
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant in Garstang, Lancashire will work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 1 child with Autism, supporting them both academically and emotionally throughout the school day. The role will involve helping the child to access learning activities, develop social skills and build confidence within the classroom environment.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant in Garstang, Lancashire, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement tailored support strategies and provide consistent encouragement and reassurance for the pupil. Experience working with children with ASC and/or SEMH needs will be highly desirable for this role.
