Create Education are currently working with a highly supportive and inclusive Primary Academy in Newham, East London that is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This is an excellent long term opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and committed to making a meaningful difference to pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will work closely with children across different year groups within both mainstream classrooms and specialist provision. You will support pupils with a range of complex and differing needs including Autism Spectrum Condition, communication difficulties, sensory needs and social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
The role will involve supporting children on a one to one basis and in small groups, helping them access learning, follow routines, build confidence and work towards targets outlined within their Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
The ideal candidate will
Have substantial experience supporting children with SEN within a primary setting
Have a strong understanding of autism and complex learning needs
Be calm, patient, nurturing and resilient in their approach
Be adaptable and confident working across different year groups and learning environments
Have experience supporting children with EHCPs and delivering targeted interventions
Be proactive, observant and solution focused
Demonstrate excellent reliability, professionalism and timekeeping
Understand the importance of consistency, structure and routine for vulnerable learnersThe academy offers
