We are currently recruiting Housing Officers to join a respected housing provider on a temp-to-perm basis, covering Cheltenham, Gloucester, Worcester, and South Wales. This home-based role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to make a real impact supporting vulnerable tenants. Working Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm with a 1-hour unpaid break, the position pays £ p/h (inclusive of holiday) plus mileage at 30p per mile.

Your new role
As a Housing Officer, you’ll manage a patch of 40–45 tenants across multiple units. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of tenancy management, including voids and lettings, arrears, anti-social behaviour, andpliance. This is a home-based role with 3–4 days spent visiting properties and 1–2 days focused on admin. You’ll manage your own diary and work independently, ensuring properties are safe, secure, and well-maintained.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular health and safety inspections and ensuring properties meetpliance standards ( gas, legionella checks)
- Managing tenancy-related issues such as rent arrears, service charges, anti-social behaviour, and breaches.
- Coordinating voids and lettings, ensuring properties are ready to let quickly and efficiently.
- Liaising with contractors and care providers to facilitate access and monitor maintenance quality.
- Supporting tenants with housing benefit claims,pleting sign-ups, and maintaining accurate records in line with GDPR and internal policies.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you’ll need a strong background in tenancy management and a passion for supporting vulnerable individuals. Due to the nature of the role, an Enhanced DBS check is required prior to starting.
- Proven experience in tenancy management and housing-related support.
- Knowledge of housing law, welfare benefits, and safeguarding practices.
- Full UK driving licence, access to a car, and business insurance.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible, mobile workload.
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
