This is a great opportunity for a Head of Security and Safety looking to progress their career in an inclusive organisation, contributing to the regeneration and development of an important part of East London. Working in the Estate and Neighbourhoods’ team, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of robust security, crowd management, and safety strategies for the LLDC, with particular focus on arrangements across the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, including interaction with venues and events.

Working within a diverse multi-disciplinary team, your role will be varied, including designing, developing, and implementing a customer-focused security strategy in collaboration with our security contractor.

You will develop and manage the delivery of the security programme for the Park, ensuring that all security personnel work within the agreed Legacy Corporation strategy and the emerging phase 3 framework.

You will work collaboratively, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.

Building strong relationships with national & local policing and external agencies such as ‘NPSA’ will be key to creating a security culture that ensures a safe environment for those who live, work, or visit the Park.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Estate and Neighbourhoods, you will be responsible for delivering key objectives and accountable for your decisions.

Is it for you?

This strategic role provides the foundation for creating a safe and inclusive place. As Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park enters phase 3 of development, this role is critical to ensuring the safe and secure delivery of planned inclusive growth, including innovation, skills, and talent development, health, and habitat, across various elements such as construction, place-making, visitor experience, and events.

The postholder will manage a small team of direct reports and a wider range of contractors. You need to be able to work at all levels within the organisation and with wider stakeholders. LLDC is a public body, so understanding public procurement and public service principles like Nolan Principles is essential.

At Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, we’re proud to be an inclusive, values-led employer committed to creating opportunities and transformation in East London. We offer flexible working, excellent benefits, and the chance to make a tangible impact on a high-profile regeneration programme.
