A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Team Manager for Wandsworth OP CMHT to provide operational leadership and management for the team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will report directly to the Clinical Manager of the service. Wandsworth OP CMHT has four sub‑teams – the Behaviour and Communication Support Service (BACSS), Community Behaviour and Support Service (CBACSS), Memory Assessment Service (MAS) and Recovery Support Team (RST) – all within the larger CMHT team. The team delivers services to people with dementia and older people with mental health problems in Wandsworth based on the Springfield site.
This post requires someone with drive, energy and a commitment to high performance standards and the delivery of excellent services. The post holder will join a supportive service line management team, with supervision and opportunities to participate in service development.
Responsibilities
The post holder will coordinate mental health referrals, lead day‑to‑day problem solving and navigation within the service and at the interface with other services and external organisations. They will work alongside the clinical manager, consultant psychiatrists and within the multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, aptitude for managing multiple demands and effective time management techniques whilst remaining calm under pressure. A positive outlook and ability to motivate others is also desirable.
The post-holder will be responsible for monitoring and supervising clinicians’ caseloads using various IT systems, and will work closely with the service's Senior Management Team to ensure services delivered are of high quality and meet nationally agreed targets and local KPIs.
They will also be flexible, responsive, organised, and interested in developing services and participating in service modernisation.
Training & Qualification
* Professional qualification appropriate to mental health or social care
* Evidence of Post Registration and CPD
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of health or social care management
* Experience of managing staff and resources
* Experience of working in a mental health setting
* Project or change management experience
Knowledge & Skills
* Ability to manage and deliver effective service redesign and change
* Knowledge of policy development and implementation
* Ability to build relationships across organisational and professional boundaries
* Ability to analyse and interpret complex data
* Ability to effectively manage and lead staff
* Up to date knowledge of effective models of mental health and social care provision
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £58,133 to £65,261 per annum inclusive of Inner London HCAS.
