About the role
Education Development Trust (edt) is looking for Zonal Education Officers for the zones of Hossana and Wolkitie. They will be responsible for coordinating, supporting, and monitoring the implementation of the Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE) project at cluster and school level in their region. The programme seeks to strengthen secondary education to prepare students for tertiary education or the world of work through competency‑based curriculum implementation.
The role ensures high‑quality delivery of teacher professional development, school leadership support, inclusion, and transition interventions across assigned schools. The officer works closely with school facilitators, teachers, school leaders, and local education offices to align programme activities to LiTE technical standards, competency‑based curriculum, and national education priorities. The officer is a link between project design and classroom practice.
Key Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Education or a closely related field (e.g., Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, TVET, or Competency‑Based Education).
* Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering donor‑funded education programmes, with a strong focus on secondary education.
* Proven experience working with schools, teachers, and sub‑national education offices (e.g., Woreda/Zonal) on teacher training and CPD initiatives.
* Demonstrated expertise in teacher professional development, school leadership support, or competency‑based curriculum delivery.
* Strong safeguarding knowledge and commitment to duty of care, child protection, equity and inclusion.
