Overview

The Role

You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our Plastics and Burns, Trauma and Related Services team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work autonomously within a highly skilled multidisciplinary environment, delivering expert, evidence‑based care to a defined patient group. You will play a key role in advanced clinical assessment, decision‑making and treatment planning while supporting service development and innovation. Applicants who do not yet fully meet the requirements of the role may be considered under Annex 21, with appropriate training and support to progress to the full role. You will be part of Scotland’s largest health board, making a real difference to patient care and outcomes.


Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

* Glasgow Royal Infirmary
* Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00


Key Responsibilities

* Assess and manage the clinical and nursing needs of patients within the specialist service
* Undertake advanced clinical assessments and make diagnostic decisions based on clinical findings and investigations
* Develop and deliver individualised care plans including nursing and medical management
* Prescribe and administer appropriate treatments within scope of practice
* Perform invasive and non‑invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures relevant to the role
* Work autonomously while contributing effectively to the multidisciplinary team
* Act as a role model, supporting education, audit, research and service development


Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job

* First Level Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
* Minimum of five years post‑registration nursing experience
* Relevant post‑registration experience supported by degree‑level study or equivalent
* Completion or commitment to an agreed Nurse Practitioner development pathway
* Demonstrable expertise in clinical assessment and decision‑making within a specialist setting
* Experience of working autonomously while maintaining strong multidisciplinary collaboration
* Commitment to continuing professional development and evidence‑based practice
