Associate Nature & Biodiversity Consultant
The role can be based from either our Bath or London offices with hybrid working. The team focuses on strategic level projects to protect the environment, determine biodiversity priorities and weave best practice and net gain into projects.

Your role and responsibilities
* Support the UK lead with the strategic growth of the UK Nature and Biodiversity team and contribute to broader nature-based solutions, ecosystem services and sustainability offers.
* Provide project and technical leadership, team line-management and mentoring, and delivery of UK planning projects.
* Engage with clients and collaborate across disciplines to develop holistic solutions to climate and nature challenges.
* Be part of the wider Nature and Biodiversity team, including UK and international ecologists.
Your skills & experience
* Experience in coaching and mentoring junior staff to develop technical and consultancy skills and foster a positive team culture.
* Strong awareness of recent ecology developments, including biodiversity net gain, off-site credits and nature-based solutions.
* Understanding and experience applying Biodiversity Net Gain and communicating its wider benefits to clients.
* Client-focused approach with the ability to solve complex ecological issues.
* Technical understanding of the UK planning system, ecological legislation and best practice.
* Experience providing ecological services for infrastructure projects (e.g., road and rail).
* Experience managing resources, budgets and leading bids/proposals.
* Full member of CIEEM or similar.
What we expect in the Senior Nature & Biodiversity team
* Lead or support the technical components of complex UK projects and provide senior input into multidisciplinary projects.
* Liaise across disciplines, present findings to clients, manage inputs and deliverables.
* Advise on biodiversity restoration/enhancement and integration of green infrastructure and nature-based solutions.
* Project management including resource planning and budgets, and proposal development.
* Maintain productive client relationships to secure sustainable new and repeat business.
* Mentor team members and promote high technical quality and innovation.
* Support the UK Lead in team management.
