Job Description
Harriman's growing multi-disciplinary practice is seeking a Sr. Civil Engineer to join our team in Portland, Maine, or Portsmouth, NH. Our civil team works closely with internal practice groups, architects, engineers, and clients on diverse project types, including schools, municipal facilities, retail, and mixed-use developments. We value collaborative, innovative civil engineers passionate about the built environment and eager to tackle technical reports, calculations, and civil engineering challenges.
Responsibilities:
1. Support civil engineering and land development projects, gaining experience in grading, storm drainage, utility design, environmental design, facility planning, site layout, roadway design, and permitting.
2. Perform engineering calculations for grading, drainage, storm-water modeling, erosion, sediment control, and permitting.
3. Prepare technical reports, assessments, and civil specifications, including permitting documents.
4. Coordinate with other disciplines, landscape architects, and architects within our full-service firm.
5. Support projects during construction administration.
6. Grow your skills and experience as a civil engineer.
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.
* At least 7 years of relevant experience.
* Professional engineering license or ability to obtain Maine license within 3 months.
* Experience designing and permitting in Maine.
Desired Skills:
* Excellent interpersonal skills and client relationship management.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop detailed construction documents and specifications.
* Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD.
* Willingness to engage in professional organizations like ASCE, ACEC.
