Radiotherapy Administration Assistant – Band 2

This is a key administrative role in the Radiotherapy Department, responsible for supporting various administrative functions within the service. The post holder will assist patients and visitors at the reception desk and support therapy radiographers with their administrative needs. Responsibilities include pulling notes for clinics, filing treatment information, and ensuring notes are returned to medical records correctly after treatment.
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, both verbal and written, such as preparing appointment letters. The post holder will also cross-cover for team members in their absence and participate in the wider administrative team, including extended-day rotational cover.
Flexibility is essential, as the service operates from 7 am to 7 pm, with the booking team available from 8 am to 5 pm. Occasional work outside these hours, during weekends, or public holidays may be required.
The Royal Surrey Cancer Centre Radiotherapy Department is based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, with a satellite service at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill. Previous administrative experience is advantageous but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
