We have an exciting opportunity for a HCPC registered Clinical Chemistry Subject Specialist to play a key role in implementing the new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology. The LIMS is the first of its kind in the UK and offers the post holder the chance to be involved in decision-making for the design and workflow within the Blood Sciences workstream.
The role is advertised as fixed-term until May 2026, with a likelihood of extension as a project replan is underway.
Subject Specialists have already been appointed in the following disciplines:
* Haematology
* Immunology
* Blood Transfusion
* Histopathology
* Bacteriology and Virology
The experienced Subject Specialist will be a credible champion in their field, playing a vital role in successful service transition. They should have an understanding of digital healthcare enablers and attend all workflow and content events related to their expertise.
The post holder will develop and implement the new LIMS, working closely with the Pathology Senior Management Team, supplier specialists, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include monitoring compliance, achieving key targets, and developing systems to ensure timely information delivery. The role involves proactive service analysis and planning to meet developing needs and promote service improvement.
The post requires data analysis to monitor performance and trends, utilizing the pathology business plan to improve processes and patient outcomes. Collaboration across all five trust sites and the wider network is essential to meet service priorities.
