Overview
Reporting to the Readymix Operations Manager, the Production Manager (Readymix) will lead production operations to deliver safety, performance, cost control and profitability in line with budgetary and strategic targets.
Responsibilities
* Managing Health & Safety performance, driving continuous improvement
* Working with production teams and senior leaders to embed operational strategies, with a strong focus on safety, cost, profitability, quality, people and customer service
* Meeting and exceeding budgetary targets and optimising CAPEX performance
* Ensuring cost control discipline across the Readymix business
* Driving the Readymix operational strategy and achieving all key KPI targets
* Leading optimisation programmes across automation, cement reduction, overstrength, SD, material packages and cost efficiency
* Ensuring efficiency and compliance with SOx requirements
* Working with estates and engineering teams to manage associated CAPEX projects
* Supporting the commercial team in securing major Readymix contracts
* Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, exceeding customer expectations through efficient operational processes
Qualifications
* Proven operational & leadership experience within Readymix or the wider mineral extractives sector
* A strong understanding of Readymix plant operations and capabilities
* Ability to demonstrate strong health, safety and environmental leadership through face to face engagement
* Strong understanding of the construction materials sector
* Proven experience managing operational teams in a similar environment
* Excellent financial acumen through cost control and budget experience
* Strong leadership capability with a results-driven mindset
* Experience in forward planning, analysis and risk identification
* Confidence influencing stakeholders across multifunctional teams
* Strong experience in operational optimisation
* Ability to make quality decisions, manage conflict and build trust
* Resilience and adaptability
* A recognised Concrete Production qualification (UoD / Concrete Society etc.), with CPD-maintained membership advantageous
* A recognised health and safety leadership qualification (SHE Lvl 4 / 6 / advantageous)
* Working knowledge of Excel, SAP, Nimrod and Command / BPL (advantageous)
