Our Client has a requirement for a HVAC Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis.
Role Purpose:
The HVAC Engineer will act as the on-site technical authority for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, ensuring design intent is maintained throughout manufacture, construction, and commissioning. This role will manage HVAC-related technical queries, design changes, and documentation, while liaising closely with design leads, construction teams, and commissioning staff. The HVAC engineer will provide expert advice on installation methods, ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and maintain the integrity of HVAC designs within a highly regulated, high-hazard project environment.
Job Role Responsibilities:
* Providing the site based focal point for HVAC related issues that arise during manufacture, construction and commissioning and liaising with the Responsible Designer where design intent may be affected.
* Reviewing and responding to site generated and supplier technical queries, concession requests, commissioning reservations, etc.
* Managing HVAC instructed change either on site or via the Responsible Designer, as appropriate
* Managing drawing configuration for the HVAC deliverables through the redline process or through the Responsible Designer
* Interfacing with appropriate Design Lead Engineers, Package Managers, Section Engineers, Quality, Commissioning and Handover teams
* Maintaining the configured HVAC design
* Advising Construction on installation methods and constructability
* Participate in constructability design reviews
* Act as custodian of design & engineering documentation on site.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
* A Degree qualified HVAC Engineer or demonstrable equivalent underpinning knowledge and understanding and discipline relevant professional experience.
* Good all-round technical design experience using British and international standards and Eurocodes.
* Ability to work autonomously and manage your own time and workload to deliver against agreed milestones.
* Ability to work effectively as a team member within a multidisciplinary team liaising directly with team members and the Client.
* Good verbal and written communication and technical writing skills.
* UK National.
* SC Cleared or the ability to obtain Security Clearance
* Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations
* Experience in high hazard industrial / complex project
* Experienced using Navisworks
* Experience in working in Common Data Environment / Building Information Modelling (BIM)
* Knowledge of AWE processes and procedures
* Working in a dynamic regulated environment I.e. nuclear, defence etc
