ROLE PROFILE Accounts Assistant ROLE PURPOSE: The primary objectives of the role are : To process the commission statements received from our insurance providers and to investigate and resolve issues arising from these statements in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with HEBW policy To provide assistance to their line manager as required To maintain records in a timely and accurate manner to enable the business to obtain all relevant and required management information The jobholder will be expected to work within the Company's established business procedures and the confines of the regulatory environment. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Planning/Reporting: Supports the department key performance indicators and business retention targets as directed by your Manager Manages assigned projects and contribute to other projects as required Provides relevant management information to senior management Technical: Be able to process commission statements received from insurance providers in a timely manner Investigate and resolve all issues arising from our insurance debtors on the agencyPlus/AO systems in a timely and accurately manner in accordance with agreed policy Accurately process adjustments on agencyPlus/AO systems Assist line manager with month end and normal business work as requested Undertake all other duties as reasonably required and directed in order to maintain the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the department to ensure all deadlines are achieved Keeps informed of all regulatory and legal changes which impacts on the job role Ensures up to date records are maintained at all times on the Company systems Responds appropriately to urgent issues as they arise Policy, Process and Procedures: Interprets instructions and issues arising, and then implement actions according to policies and procedures Environment, Customer Focus and Relationships: Responds to the clients(both internal and external) requirements as appropriate Behaves with all clients (both internal and external) fairly and ethically Shares information that could be beneficial to the Operating Entity/Group People Management/Personal Development: The jobholder has no direct reports. Actively undertakes personal development to ensure up to date knowledge and understanding of best practice Remains aware of external, industry, legal and regulatory developments etc to ensure practice and outputs are of a sufficiently high standard Keeps informed of all legal and regulatory developments relevant to the Operating Entity/Group PERSON SPECIFICATION Knowledge/Experience Experience of working in a high volume finance team Understanding of Financial Services and Markets Act 200 and FCA rules Understanding of the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and how this impacts on their role Skills/Behaviours Acts in a dignified and professional manner at all times Maintain absolute client and company confidentiality at all times Accurate work with attention to detail Meticulous and thorough Sense of responsibility and ownership Good organisational skills Positive, professional attitude Excellent written and communication skills and knowledge of all Microsoft office applications Excellent telephone manner Analysis and judgement Qualifications Educated to GCSE standard What do we offer in return?
