Job Title: Communications Officer - Facilities Directorate
This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
About the Role
Working in the Facilities Directorate (FD) as part of the Marketing, Sales and Communications team, you will ensure that the FD’s Estates and Facilities team can deliver their critical work by facilitating the flow of information between Faculties, Estates colleagues, external contractors, and University stakeholders. Your work will be vital in ensuring the University community understands key estate projects and supports the minimising of campus disruptions through effective engagement.
This is an exciting time to join the team, with ongoing capital investment programmes to enhance the campus and the newly launched Campus Reimagined project.
Key Responsibilities
1. Create communications and content for diverse audience channels, working closely with project managers and contractors.
2. Manage social media accounts to promote campus improvement projects.
3. Support communication needs of essential services such as Security and Cleaning.
4. Handle reactive communication around campus disruptions.
5. Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and communications strategies.
6. Explain complex or technical information to a lay audience and manage stakeholder relationships.
Candidate Requirements
* At least three years’ experience in a relevant communications role.
* Proven ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate effective campaigns.
* Experience in communicating complex or technical information clearly.
* Strong relationship management skills.
