Bank Care Support Worker
Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone
Contract: Bank, Zero Hours
Shifts: – hour shifts covering days and nights Monday – Sunday.
Hourly Rate: £ per hour plus holiday pay

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced healthcare assistant to join our surgical inpatients team on the bank. As a Care Support Worker, you will monitor patients’ conditions pre and post surgery, escalating to the nursing staff where necessary.
You will be a strong and motivated individual who is patient focused, with a desire and proven ability to deliver healthcare at its best.
This role is suitable for anyone has previously worked in an acute health care setting as a Care Support Worker, Health Care Assistant, Clinical Support Worker, Imaging Assistant or Nursing Assistant. Experience in a hospital environment is advantageous but not essential.
Role Responsibilities
As a Care Support Worker, you will:
1. Always demonstrate good clinical practice and be accountable for own actions.
2. Monitor patient’s observations in line with national standards throughout a patient journey.
3. Chaperone patients when required.
4. Be willing to undertake phlebotomy when appropriately trained.
5. Ensure that your own professional development is maintained and enhanced.
Person Specification
Essential
6. Have a good standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills.
7. Have experience working in an acute health care setting as either a Care Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Clinical Support Worker.
8. Have proven communication skills.
9. Demonstrate basic IT skills.
Desirable
10. Hold and NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
11. Have experience working as a Care Assistant, Clinical Support Worker, or Care Support Worker in an acute healthcare setting.
12. Have experience undertaking ECG’s.
13. Have Phlebotomy experience.
