Bridgestone Group are pleased to be working with a leading provider of water network services who A leading UK provider of water network and asset management services is seeking a Area Team Leader to support their operations across Central and North Wales. This is a key field-based leadership role overseeing a team of Leakage Engineers and field technicians who deliver essential work to reduce water loss, protect the environment, and support community resilience.

The Role
You will lead, motivate, and develop a team of 8–10 field-based staff, ensuring they deliver high-quality operational, technical, and customer-focused outcomes. You’ll act as a key point of contact for your team, supporting day‑to‑day performance, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards, and driving continuous improvement across all activities.
The work is varied, involving both leadership and hands-on operational support. You’ll be outdoors frequently and will need to be flexible regarding travel, overtime, and occasional out‑of‑hours work.
Key Duties
* Serve as the first point of contact for field staff, including Leakage Technicians and Logging Inspectors
* Lead on Risk Assessment, Health & Safety management, and performance monitoring
* Deliver monthly toolbox talks, safety briefings, and safety alerts
* Complete Health & Safety analysis, performance reviews, and quarterly inspections
* Manage day‑to‑day operations, ensuring efficient delivery of leakage detection and network activities
* Ensure team compliance with approved technical procedures and the Integrated Management System
* Produce clear and accurate daily and weekly status reports
* Analyse team performance, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement actions
* Support and mentor field staff, providing training, guidance, and coaching
* Assist with locating leakage jobs and promoting effective resolution
* Complete incident and accident reports when required
* Ensure all operational tasks are completed to time, quality, and safety standards
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required
* Strong commitment to Health & Safety
* Proven experience leading and motivating a field‑based team
* Confident communicator with strong influencing and coaching skills
* A customer‑focused mindset with the ability to meet strict deadlines and service levels
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
* Ability to analyse performance data and drive improvement
* Experience in water distribution, utilities, or related field (advantageous but not essential)
* Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or overtime when required
* Full UK Driving Licence
