Overview
Operating across Ireland, UK and Europe, Boven Safety Management Ltd are a leading Health & Safety Consultancy to our leading multinational Construction, Fit-Out, & Manufacturing based clients. Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to work with a number of our clients across UK & Ireland with the development and delivery of their Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems. This will include, but not limited to, undertaking audits and inspections, developing operating procedures, preparing reports and statistics, delivering presentations as well as providing advice and guidance to clients and their employees. Although primarily office based from our head office in Hillsborough, County Down, this role will require occasional travel to client’s offices & sites throughout Ireland and UK.
Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Perform root cause analysis for incidents and near misses, providing actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
* Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures tailored to specific environments and operations.
* Prepare detailed reports on safety findings, including recommendations for improvements and compliance status.
* Provide training sessions on safety practices, first aid procedures, and emergency response protocols to employees at all levels.
* Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organisation.
* Stay updated on current legislation, industry standards, and best practices related to health and safety.
* Manage your own diary and workload, ensuring a high level of organisation and customer service
Experience
* Minimum 3-years experience in a health and safety role or similar position is essential.
* Strong skills in Health & Safety Management in UK & Ireland are highly desirable.
* Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
* Experience in the development and implementation of ISO systems (9001, 14001 & 45001)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office package
* A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent)
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Ireland.
