Actual Salary: £30,245 to £33,570. Starting Date: 1st December 2025.
Due to the current post holder’s impending retirement, the Governing Body of Kearsley West Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team. Our new School Business Manager will manage all aspects of the business of the school outside of teaching and learning, including finance, human resources, estate management, health and safety and administration. This post carries the responsibility for the line management of office staff, caretaker and the lunchtime supervision team. The post holder will also be a member of the School’s Senior Leadership Team.
Kearsley West is a small, friendly primary and nursery school with a stable and committed staff team. We pride ourselves on nurturing each child as an individual. In December 2024 the school was graded ‘Good’ in all aspects by Ofsted. We are looking for someone who will relish the opportunity to keep our lovely school working smoothly and efficiently. This post is suitable for a newly qualified SBM, or someone with relevant experience.
Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of the school’s business outside of teaching and learning, including finance, human resources, estate management, health and safety and administration.
* Line manage office staff, the caretaker and the lunchtime supervision team.
* Participate as a member of the School’s Senior Leadership Team.
Qualifications and qualities
* Excellent practitioner with an understanding of the requirements of finance, HR and health and safety in the educational sector.
* Strong relationship-building skills with all stakeholders to benefit the school.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
* Desire to contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s ethos, work and aims.
* Willingness to develop professionally and grow into the role to the best of their ability.
