The Role
As Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for driving maintenance performance across your assigned area, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and team development.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Championing a safe working culture and promoting best practice across all maintenance activities
2. Leading and developing Shift Engineers through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job development
3. Ensuring effective execution of corrective, preventative, and planned maintenance activities
4. Driving root cause analysis and implementing long-term reliability improvements
5. Improving maintenance and processing methods to reduce downtime and operating costs
6. Supporting and reviewing first-line preventative maintenance plans with Production Leaders
7. Coordinating external contractors, suppliers, and technical specialists
8. Managing maintenance routines, planning, and reporting within SAP
9. Overseeing MRO budget control and spare parts management
10. Scheduling planned maintenance around production requirements
11. Providing cover for the Maintenance Manager when required
12. Supporting site-wide operational excellence and maintenance framework initiatives
The role requires flexibility to work across shifts as needed to support the team and site performance.
About You
You'll be a confident engineering leader with strong technical foundations and a collaborative management style. You're analytical, solutions-focused, and comfortable making decisions in a high-pressure manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
13. HNC (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline
14. Proven experience leading or supervising maintenance teams in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
15. Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capability
16. Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office (desirable)
17. A passion for reliability, continuous improvement, and manufacturing excellence
18. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across departments
