Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.
The Role:
The Connected Car Launch Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end readiness, validation, and successful market launch of connected vehicle features and services. This role acts as the technical bridge between engineering, testing, suppliers, cloud backends, and vehicle programs, ensuring that all connected car functions (OTA, telematics, remote services, apps, diagnostics, subscriptions, compliance) are stable, compliant, and launch-ready across regions.
The engineer owns pre‑launch to post‑SOP execution, including trials, production readiness, defect triage, go‑live coordination, and early-life support.
Area of Responsibility
1. Connected Feature Launch Ownership
1. Own the launch readiness of connected car features such as:
2. Telematics & TCU services
3. OTA (FOTA/SOTA) and Feature‑On‑Demand
4. Remote commands (lock/unlock, climate,
5. Define launch criteria, go/no‑go gates, and acceptance metrics for connected features.
6. Support multiple launch phases: Pilot, SOP, regional rollouts, and feature expansions.
2. Vehicle, Cloud & App Integration
7. Coordinate E2E integration across:
8. Vehicle ECUs (TCU, Gateway, Domain Controllers)
9. Backend/cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
10. Verify vehicle cloud app data flows, latency, reliability, and failover behavior.
11. Drive resolution of integration issues across SW/HW/Cloud boundaries.
3. Testing, Validation & Trials
12. Support and track:
13. Vehicle‑level testing (HIL, SIL, CAN, network validation)
14. UAT, field trials, dogfooding, and pre‑SOP fleet testing
15. Network mode testing (ignition cycles, sleep/wake, roaming, weak signal)
16. Ensure validation across:
17. Vehicle modes and transitions
18. Regions, markets, and regulatory variants
19. Review and sign off launch validation reports.
4. Defect & Incident Management
20. Act as launch triage focal point during SOP and early-life support.
21. Analyze defects across:
22. Vehicle software
23. Backend/cloud services
24. Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions with internal teams and suppliers.
25. Raise and track critical launch blockers and risks.
5. Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination

27. OEM engineering, vehicle integration, and manufacturing
28. Tier‑1 suppliers (TCU, infotainment, backend, OTA)
29. Track supplier deliverables against launch milestones.
30. Ensure alignment across global OEM, ESP, and supplier teams.

38. Present launch status, risks, and mitigations to management and customers.
8. Post‑Launch & Continuous Improvement
39. Support early-life production (ELP) and stabilization phase.
40. Monitor real‑world telemetry, incidents, and customer issues.
41. Feed learnings into next vehicle programs, OTA releases, and process improvements.
Knowledge
42. Strong understanding of:
43. Connected car architecture & telematics systems

45. Vehicle networks (CAN, Ethernet, LIN)

47. Experience with tools such as:

Experience
52. Experience in automotive software, connected car, or EE&I domains.
53. Proven experience in vehicle SOP or feature launches.
54. Hands-on exposure to vehicle testing, field trials, and ELP support.
