The Apprentice Engineer will support the engineering and workshop functions associated with the design, development, manufacture, assembly, and maintenance of specialist equipment produced by CRC Evans.
The Apprentice Engineer will also assist in producing accurate 3D CAD models, engineering drawings to BS 8888 standards, and bills of materials (BOMs) for production and project‑specific equipment. The role also supports workshop operations through the creation of build documentation, implementation of minor design improvements, and assistance with testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities. The position provides practical hands‑on experience across mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and workshop disciplines while supporting the completion of an approved engineering apprenticeship programme.

Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 5/C or above, including:
Practical experience working with mechanical and/or electrical equipment is desirable.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, material properties, and engineering principles is desirable.
Exposure to 3D CAD software (modeling, assembly, drawings in SolidWorks) is desirable.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Strong interest in engineering and technology.
Good problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Ability to produce clear and accurate technical information and reports.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems is desirable.
Commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme and associated qualifications.
Willingness to travel when required.
Some occasional travel is required as you progress through the apprenticeship programme.
