Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Complex Needs Practitioner to join the Solihull Integrated Addiction Service (SIAS), delivered in partnership with Aquarius Action Projects and partner organisations. This is an exciting opportunity to support adults affected by substance use and gambling, helping them make positive changes and achieve improved outcomes.

As a Complex Needs Practitioner, you will work across a variety of settings, providing person-centred support to individuals with complex needs. You will empower clients to address substance misuse issues, reduce risk, build resilience and move forward in recovery. Working closely with partner agencies and professionals, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, compassionate support within the local community.

2. Work with clients to develop and review recovery and support plans
3. Carry out assessments, risk assessments and ongoing case management
4. Support clients to reduce harm, improve wellbeing and achieve positive outcomes
5. Build effective working relationships with voluntary and statutory agencies, health professionals and partner organisations
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with organisational and contractual requirements
7. Deliver support across a range of community and service delivery settings
8. Promote safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
9. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment

About You

10. Have an understanding of drug, alcohol, offending and health-related issues
11. Hold a qualification in health and social care, youth and community work or a related field (NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling or Addiction Studies), or have relevant experience within the substance misuse field and willingness to work towards an NVQ Level 3 qualification
12. Have experience supporting adults within an addictions or complex needs setting
13. Be confident engaging with clients from a range of backgrounds and in different environments
14. Have experience liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and healthcare professionals
15. Possess strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills
16. Be competent in Microsoft Office and maintaining accurate case records
17. Have a flexible and proactive approach to supporting clients and service delivery
18. Be committed to confidentiality, safeguarding and delivering compassionate, recovery-focused support
