We're searching for a curious & confident
Commercial Pricing Analyst
with relevant experience and strong commercial judgement to join our client's expanding team and shape profitable, data‑driven pricing strategies. This key role balances margin, risk, competitiveness and speed, using financial modelling and pricing analysis to accelerate quote turnaround whilst ensuring decisions are commercially sound, robust and aligned to business objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Pricing Models & Rate Card Development:
* Develop, own and maintain standard pricing models and rate cards across core service propositions.
* Ensure pricing structures reflect cost movements, market conditions, commercial strategy and business performance targets.
* Continuously improve pricing tools to support faster, more consistent quote turnaround.
Pricing Analysis & Commercial Insight:
* Analyse pricing, contract and service performance to identify margin risks, optimisation opportunities and value leakage.
* Translate financial and operational data into clear pricing recommendations that support profitable growth.
* Provide scenario analysis to support pricing decisions, trade-offs and commercial negotiations.
* Respond to and manage commercial opportunity tasks, ensuring commercially sound and competitive pricing aligned to customer requirements.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Support:
* Partner with finance and wider commercial teams to support budgeting and forecasting related to services.
* Work closely with Commercial, Pre-Sales, Sales and Finance, acting as a trusted commercial partner to support timely and commercially sound pricing decisions.
* Assess the pricing impact of changes in cost base, demand, or service delivery models.
Performance Measurement & Governance:
* Support pricing governance by ensuring models, assumptions, and recommendations are robust, transparent, and auditable.
* Ensure that Governance policies are followed consistently and provide clear audit trails in pricing submissions.
Market & Competitor Analysis:
* Monitor competitor pricing, market trends and customer dynamics to inform pricing strategies and proposition development.
* Contribute to the development and pricing of new and enhanced service offerings for market launch.
Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience in a
Commercial Pricing Analyst
role or similar is essential.
* Experience within an
IT Value Added Reseller (VAR), IT Managed Services Provider
, or similar is highly desirable.
* Ability to apply sound commercial judgement to pricing decisions, and understand the trade-offs between margin, competitiveness, risk & speed.
* Analytical skills with experience in
financial modelling
,
pricing analysis
and
interpretation of complex financial
and
operational data
.
* Excellent communicator, with the ability to translate complex analysis effectively, influencing internal stakeholders / confidently describing pricing recommendations.
* Strong attention to detail, problem solving and critical thinking skills, ensuring high levels of accuracy
and developing practical, value driven solutions.
* Ability to work effectively across various departments including commercial, finance, sales and operational teams.
* Experience working in fast paced environments, with the initiative to anticipate issues and opportunities, to drive improvements and respond to changing commercial demands.
* CIMA
qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
